curls or bob
For several months now, I have been bugging my husband, asking him to help me on a major decision in my life. It truly is a major thing! It will afect everything about me. Should I have my hair curled? Or should I try a bob? Teehehe!
My Lower School counselees (aged 7-9) love touching my long straight hair whenever they visit me in my office. One time, I told them I want to have it cut like Katie Holmes'. My God, you wouldn't believe how they freaked out! But there's this girl who said she thinks I'll still look pretty with a bob. Shhh... Her mom owns a salon and she handed me mommy dearie's business card. Oh, how supportive of her mom! Ain't that cute! When asked which they think would look best on me, most of these girls said they want it curled while a few thinks a bob will do just fine. Great. That confused me more!
Just when I'm convinced I want to show-off my nape (inspired by Katie Holmes and R and B Princess Kyla), my husband adds to the confusion too by telling me that maybe I should try the curls first. Dig this, he was the one who greatly convinced me to have it cut short! Arrgh!
For 7 years now, I have sported a long straight hairstyle (I used to have it really shorter in my UP days). I feel I need to give it a rest by going back to a bob. I also read somewhere that if you have a nice pair of eyes (which I'm confident I have, haha!), you can show it off by letting your hair fall just above it, giving it more emphasis. Bangs, anyone? But there's a part of me that says why not try the curls first since everyone liked your prenup and wedding reception look? By April, I would have to decide which road I shall take --- the curls or the bob. For the love of God! Which do you think would complement my face?
our luau party
As the School Year 2007 - 2008 ends this month, our department will be hosting a Farewell Dinner for our Middle School students. This year's theme is luau. The party will surely be filled with bright colors and lively entertainment. As a member of the Awards Committee, I was given the task to design a certificate to be given out to chosen awardees. Most of the awards are cool tags such as Sudoku Master and Rubiks King. Below are 3 sample designs I created last night. I would gladly appreciate your suggestions. Please leave a comment too which one you like most.

This year's Luau Party is going to be held on Tuesday, March 11th at the Corinthian Garden Clubhouse. Wait. Isn't that next week already? Quick! Help me choose the best certificate!

say it with flowers
I adore flowers.
In one conversation my husband and I had, Gino asked me why women liked to receive flowers. For Christ's sake, I didn't know how to answer his very simple query. FYI, my husband is a frustrated debater. He's very good in reasoning out. If he was to attend a class on Argumentation 101, he'll surely outwit his professor.
And so, I ended up telling him "Just!", a typical Korean response which in Tagalog means "Basta". Gino knows I love to fill our house with flowers. He is aware that my all-time favorite is a yellow calla lily (which was used as my wedding bouquet). He understands that I want to have my own flower shop. He realized just recently that given much time, I would enrol myself in a crash course in flower arrangement.
As I think of the question again, I thought of posting photos of flowers I took last year. Here are some of my favorite images.
Flowers carry an unexplainable air of calmness. Its colors. Its softness. Its glamour. Its beauty. It comforts a weary soul. It romances a passionate spirit. It celebrates a blissful milestone.
Once in a while, words are better left unsaid. In those moments, we instinctively say it with flowers.

alexandrea lushington eliminated?
The biggest shocker of my life (at least for the month of February) happened Friday night. Blame it on American Idol.
1. The moment Alexandrea Luchington's name was called, I was pulling my hair with eyebrows up in the heavens, as I yelled "what the heck?!". I mean, I felt she did well in her own version of Chicago's If You Leave Me Now. The only flaw was because the song didn't highlight her voice That might have brought her down. But there were other girls who'd better leave, you know!
2. I got more emotional when David Archuleta was shown wiping his tears while Alexandrea sang (shown in the video at 3:23 and 3:55) Oh man! She even went down the stage to give him a hug (at 4:25)! That was such a tearful moment that I ended up wiping my own tears. Sniff. Sniff. It was said they've known each other way back in Star Search days and thus, developed a deeper level of friendship.
3. "Crazy!" It just came out of my mouth when Kady Malloy was announced safe. Meaning Alaina Whitaker was to leave. Although I thought they both deserved to go home, between the two of them, I'll vote Kady out!
4. Robbie Carrico losing over Luke Menard? It must be a joke! Big, big joke! I wanted to cover my ears the whole Luke was singing! Unbelievable.
After Tuesday and Wednesday's performances, I conidently told my husband I was sure Alaina, Kady, Jason (Yeager) and Luke would go home. Okay, I was only 50% right. So what! I hate the thought that I won't get to watch Alexandrea anymore. Thanks to youtube, I can still see her 2 AI performances.
Darn! Why am I so hooked at the American Idol Season 7 anyway?
on our 8th month together!
Today marks our 8th month as the married labskis. Counting the days, that would be 243 lovely days. Counting the months, that's an enchanting 44 months. I couldn't think of anything priceless to give to my hubby other than a scrap of him (and a real tight warm hug). So last Friday, while I was waiting for him to get home from work, I created a scrap of him from images taken of our Camiguin Island honeymoon. It took me awhile choosing which photos to use because I didn't want a scrap of a single picture. And then I thought to myself, I want this scrap to show Gino's high-spiritedness. The very reason why, above anything or anyone in this world, I love my animated and perky husband.

Journaling: I would take the stars out of the sky for you. Stop the rain from falling if you ask me to. I'll do anything for you, your wish is my command. I could move a mountain when your hand is in my hand. Words cannot express how much you mean to me. There must be some other way to make you see. If it takes my heart and soul you know I'd pay the price. Everything that I possess I'd gladly sacrifice. You to me are everything. (The Real Thing)
His reaction as he saw this scrap? Wow! Ang galing-galing mo talaga. So creative! Who would have thought the color orange would look good on this? Who would have thought how to arrange the photos neatly? Who would have thought of using this song for journaling?
Well, my labski... did it all because it was you I was scrapping about. (hugs. hugs. hugs.)
