tagged:: moment of truth

It has been quite since I last did a tag. This one is very timely because my husband and I will be celebrating our first wedding anniversary on the 3rd of July! So... I thank Rocks for this tag!

Are you deeply in love with your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend? If you do, let's try how well you remember the moment of your life with him. But before you put yourself in the hot seat please read the rules of this tag first.
RULES:

1. This tag should be pass on to your friends.
2. Visit the blog of the person you've got this tag.
3. Leave a comment on her/his tag post. Be sure to thank her/him for this tag.
4. Highlight and link all the list of people who accepted this tag by visiting their blog site.
5. There are 10 questions that you need to answer but you will be the one to write the 10th question for the next person you want to pass this tag.

Here are the questions. Be honest with your answers.

1. How did you meet your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend?

We were classmates in UP Diliman.

2. Where did you go on your first date?

That would be a mass at the EDSA Shrine (which pretty much explains why we gt married in the same church).

3. When was your first intimate kiss?

In my house, july 3, 2004.

4. How many girlfriends/boyfriends he/she had in the past? Do you honestly know?

Hehe. I'm the 5th but the first and last he was serious with. Wink! Wink!

5. What is his/her ethnicity?

Filipino

6. What is his/her favorite food?

Whatever I cook! But he loves pasta. Anything Italian.

7. What is he/she like if he/she is mad?

Quiet.

8. What are the things he/she did you thought is the most romantic thing he'd/she'd ever done?

We were attending our pre-cana with this group of couples. We were sitting infront and the facilitator was discussing about God's gifts and blessings to people. Money, career, good health. Out of the blue, she asked my husband "what is God's greatest blessing to you?" My husband answered "my fiancee..." and kissed me. Awww! I blushed out of kilig and happiness!

9. Describe how he/you proposed to you.

I lost my winnie the pooh stress-ball-like keychain. We were in his room one time and he suddenly pushed my missing pooh with his forefinger on the bed. And on pooh's ear, my engagement ring was attached!

10. What do you usually do on your dates?

Foodtrip. Lakadtrip. Or a movie marathon at home with arms entwined.=)

I'm now passing this tag to Abie and her sister Vien.

coffee break ver. 1.24

And so it happened. After being apart for 16 years, my long lost buddy and I, through the help of the world wide web, are in touch again. A lot of catching up to do. But thanks to emails, chats and blogs. Although we are miles apart, she being in Norway and me here in our beloved country, the stories never end. It feels like she's just in another city!

I am sure you have a story to tell too of how technology, the internet in particular, has played a role in your life. Finding a lost lost friend. Being inspired by someone's blog. Meeting one's lifetime partner. Chancing upon a new friend. The list could go on and on. C'mon, share it with us.

How has the internet made wonders to your social life?

laid back weekend

It's going to be a relaxing weekend for me and hubby. Right after work today, we'll go straight to my mama's house in Mandaluyong and stay there until Sunday. We've brought 2 DVDs for us to watch with my pamangkins. Both are suspense thrillers, Joshua and The Order. I can't wait to see them cover their frightened faces with pillows. Mwahaha! Here are the rest of the plans.

Saturday:
1. Help prepare lunch in my mama's house.
2. Visit our balikbayan friend in her hometown in Laguna.
3. Make Leadership modules.

Sunday:
1. Watch the Taekwondo tournament of my pamangkins.
2. Dine out with the family (finally!).

Have a happy weekend blogmates!

my husband's busted plans

"Check my inbox. Rashid texted me this afternoon", my husband said last night. And so, being the obedient wife that I am, I did.

Their exchange of text messages was mostly about work. Rashid was encouraging my hubby to transfer to this multinational company. The benefits were way better than my hubby's current company, he said. After reading their messages, I was about to put his cellphone down when I noticed a saved message in his draft. It says:

Cinderella starring Lea Salonga CCP July 29 - August 24
Alicia Keys Concert Big Dome August 5
Chris Daughtry Show Eastwood City July 29
Lifehouse Concert Big Dome July 26

Puzzled, I read it out loud to him. And then he turned red, scratched his head and told me, "I always fail to surprise you, don't I?" That was when I understood it. One of these shows is his gift for me on our 1st wedding annivesary on July 3!!! Hahaha! Busted! I jumped up to him like a baby seeing her mama after a long day at work. I was so happy knowing that he was planning something this big for me! He knows how much I love watching concerts and musical plays. And this surprise, though I busted it, did surprise me big time!

I had to comfort him though. He felt disappointed that I found it out too soon. "I wanted to surprise you with the tickets, not with the draft message." Aaw... That is so sweet!

melot, my long lost buddy

I was ecstatic the minute I saw a comment from a Maria Rosabelle Williams in my recent post. I knew right then, even if the surname sounded foreign, that this was the same person I have been searching for in the world wide web for years now.

Melot, as I fondly call her back in 1991, was my best buddy in High School. She was like an ate to me. She would remind me to behave when I had to. Yet she would go crazy with me when it was a let-your-hair-down experience. We've had our bonding moments. Yet we had our petty quarrels too. We've shared our laughter. We've wiped our tears. A year or two after, she migrated to Norway. Within another year, we lost touch.

Dearest Melot,
I am so glad to finally find you. We have a lot of catching up to do! I see that you're married too. I would love to see photos of you with your own family. The story of my life is no secret. It's written and weaved all over the net. But hearing it from me personally would be more interesting. Leave me a message at my yahoo, address it to mjmagtoto. I'll spread the news to the rest of the gang (that would be Evelyn and the boys). I'll be waiting for your reply! Take care buddy!

reedley in mimosa

And so it happened. I slept the night without my husband by my side.
To help me manage the absence of my other half, I stayed with my buddies until about 3 a.m. I wanted to make sure I would only go to bed when I could no longer keep my eyes open. And I was successful, as I dragged myself to bed after a night of junk food binge.

Mimosa, Clarkfiled Pampanga

It was a fun, fun, fun outing. The teambuilding activities. The foodtripping. The karaoke-singing. And of course, the much-talked-about performance night. Without much of an effort, my group won 2nd place after showcasing our wacky dance interpretation of Mike Hanopol's Laki sa Layaw Jeproks. The crowd went crazy!

But the best part of it was the reunion between husband and wife. Ahem... The moment we rode our bus bound for Manila, my smile was from ear to ear as I longed for my husband's sweet embrace. It was the sweetest. Really!

boston celtics bags 17th NBA title

Rah! Rah! Rah! After 22 long years, Boston Celtics wins the 17th NBA title. It was a stunning 131-92 win over LA Lakers on game 6. Their first title together, it was indeed sweet victory for the triumverate Paul Pierce (NBA Finals MVP), Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett.

My husband is a die-hard KG fan. And although his sports gears are all Nike items, upon learning KG was Adidas' endorser, his eyes popped out seeing KG's shoes at the Alabang Town Center last weekend. Ssshh... Hubby doesn't know. I am saving up on it.

I am glad Celtics won. Not because I'm a fan. But I thought, hey, why not let another team get the title. It's about time the NBA goes green!

smearing the philippine flag

I strongly agree with our Historians.

The new cover of Rogue magazine showing model Joey Mead wearing nothing but a body paint of our Philippine flag is really foul. The magazine's staff, in a written explanation, said it was a form of expression. An artistic and creative way to illustrate the current state of our nation. How can that be an art form when you're using the Philippine flag? It's against our constitution. Tsk tsk tsk.

coffee break ver. 1.23

I want a cone of cookies and cream flavored ice cream!

It's past 2 in the afternoon and I just had my lunch. Despite the different knuckles tapping on my door, I refused to leave my office. I wanted to finish the task I was working on. After devoting almost 2 hours on it, I am finally done.

And now, I am wishing a mouth-watering ice cream would pop on my table as a reward.

How would you reward yourself after a long day at work?

friday the 13th

Anyone ever noticed the date today? It's Friday the 13th. And yeah, I am part of the population who grew up with my folks telling me it's synonymous to bad luck.

Portrait of a black cat by Subterfuge Malaises

Sshhh... In my grade school days, I honestly believed them. I used to fear this dreadful day! But now as I look back, I find those days really cute and funny. Now that I am older (and wiser, I hope) instead of fearing this day, I even look forward to it. Why? Because it's a Friday. It's a TGIF!!!

Happy weekend everyone! And to our dear dads, grand dads, dads-in-law, future dads... HAPPY DAD's DAY!

coffee break ver. 1.22

Yeah, I know. It's the last day of the work week and coffee break is up just now. Don't blame me. I don't blame anyone too. It's just that, there were a lot of other things I had to attend to first. Enough said now. Let's start the chitchat!

It's the time of the year when we show appreciation and love for the first man in our lives --- our dear fathers. We may have been through a lot of arguments with them, whether it's about our need for independence or our struggle with a college course. No matter how we look at it, our fathers will always play a major role in our lives. As we celebrate their day this Sunday, we ask you to share your ideas on this:

What are your top 3 gift suggestions this Father's Day?

the countdown begins

Three working days left before our First Day of School. Don't sweat t
he small stuff. I'm talking to myself, of course. Minor details still need polishing, that's why. And Me-The Worrier is getting all jiggy and messed up. Don't!!!

for young wives

"At some point, young wives like us, need to realize that there is a world outside our family life." --- Mai, my new buddy, processing me on my separation anxiety.

separation anxiety

So this is how it feels like.

Last night, tears just fell from my eyes as my husband and I spoke of our looming first overnight apart. This Friday and Saturday is our company outing at the Mimosa Clarkfield in Pampanga. Initially, I planned on joining them just for the day because my husband and I, we didn't want us separated even for just a night. I have made arrangements already that I shall go home after dinner on Friday. Even if I have to take a bus going back to Manila, I didn't mind! However, there has been some miscommunication-slash-misunderstanding and it's a MUST for me to be in Mimosa the whole duration of the outing. I really felt heavyhearted. After an hour of contemplating and processing by my new buddy Mai and another hour with my hubby Gino encouraging and assuring me it's ok, I was convinced. Well, half-convinced.

It's just for a night, I know. But hey, don't blame me. Separation anxiety. And it's killing me.

coffee break ver. 1.21

Because it's the time of the year when students go back to school, our topic for this week is still related to schooling. To make it a fun "going-back-in-time" theme, we shall talk about our days back in Grade School.

Grade School is one of the most exciting time in our lives. It is monumental as it is a time of firsts. First day in school. First teacher. First seatmate. First homework. First quiz. And a whole lot of other firsts. Most of us come out of our shells during this time too. This week's coffee break, I invite you to share with us

How were you like as a grade school student?
