campaign materials

So this is what happened. i got a call from my sister really early the other day. She was asking me to make campaign materials (flyers or posters) for my uncle. He was running as
Kagawad in the upcoming local election in my mom's hometown in Pampanga. Now, that wasn't much of a surprise. You see, my other uncle is trying to get re-elected as Kagawad in Manila. Politics in the family? Nah. Not for me.

Anyway, here are the stuff I came up with. Thanks to powerpoint for making my life easier. I only had one night to do these. Talk about pressure, huh. Plus, I didn't have any clue how I would do it. My sister said any color would do. That I can do whatever I want with it. I had to research the internet for ideas. And these are 4 designs I made.

So there. Yeah, I know. Too plain. But my family seemed to have liked it. Bonus point is that my uncle's favorite color is green. Hahaha! Talk about luck. Well, my sister's printer got tired printing the campaign materials. It's ink was dry after making 50 papers. Hehehe! I hope this is going to help my uncle's campaign. He's not just an uncle to me. He's our ninong in our wedding too! Goodluck tito Will!

josh groban philippine tour

Sigh. Yep, while those who got tickets are shouting for joy, I am here in my lonesome. Sighing. I didn't get to buy tickets to see him live despite him having 2 nights at the PICC. The tickets are all sold out. Well, not really. The last time I checked, tickets left were those priced at Php20,000. Now, you know my husband won't let me use up our savings for a night with dear Josh. Ticket prices range from Php25,000 (limited), Php20,000, Php15,000, Php10,000, Php5,000 and Php3,000 (limited).

I guess I would have to entertain myself by watching videos of him in YouTube. And maybe, to console myself, would keep uploading his videos here for a month. Whooohuhu...

weekend finds

Here ye! Here ye! October 6-8 was a very productive weekend for me. I was able to make 6 digiscraps! Can you believe that? I was just so inspired to work on my freebie finds. You do know that working on my digiscraps on weekdays is a bit of a challenge for me since i have my counseling job & my role as a supah wife to my supah hubby gino. Making a digiscrap on a weekday is a once-in-a-blue moon thing. I usually make one to relax me after a stressful counseling session. Or while waiting for my hubby to get home from work. That is why, on weekends, my goal is to make lotsa scraps!

Here's my scrap on a picture i took about 2 years ago of my favorite softdrink. I love the misty-blur look of the photo.

Here's a collection of pictures i took in intramuros, with my husband as my assistant (meaning, alalay, hehe, love you labski). I'm raving at the rustic look of old manila shown in the pictures.

My hubby & i are so addicted to heroes season 1. Naturally, we were so excited for the show's season 2. We've seen 2 episodes already. I can't wait for episode 3 tomorrow! I especially like claire & of course, peter! But the whole cast rocks! Here's a season 2 teaser i found in a fansite.

This time, I decided to make a scrap of me with my sisters, cousins & niece. This photo was taken by my hubby when we went to baguio city in january this year with my whole family. I love the kulitan moment depicted in this picture! Love the title too!

My pamangkins bruce & betchay are perfect subjects for photo shoots. This was a picture i took of them during a family vacation in subic. The title says it all!

The last weekend find but definitely my favorite --- a picture of me & my husband on our first vacation when we were still single. I asked him last night to look for our picture that he likes me to make into a digiscrap. I didn't know he would pick this one! It turns out this shot was super special to him (actually, to me too) because we took this using a can of pringles as our tripod. Very creative, don't you think. It's so green! So natural! So special indeed!

So there. I hope you liked my weekend finds. I hope to post more soon! I'm thinking of making scraps of people. Friends, relatives & strangers would be nice subjects.=)

Credits to 2peasinabucket & shabbyprincess. Oh! By the way, regarding my post last week --- the Pambansang Kamao won again! Go Pacman! Rock on!

will to win: pacquiao vs barrera

I was checking my mail when these cool nike ads popped out. Astig!!! But my favorite is the one that's in Tagalog. Love it, love it, love it!

In last night's press conference, Barrera seemed so confident in saying he'll beat the Pambansang Kamao because this is going to be his last fight. Yep, he will be retiring after this rematch. When Pacquiao spoke, he was so honest in saying he was nervous. Oh-oh. Why did I get nervous too? For sure, this is going to be a boxing match worth watching.

Expect the whole country tuned in on Saturday's (Sunday in Pinas) fight. As the commercial says, it's a match between The Legend --- Marco Antonio Barrera and The Legend Killer --- Manny Pacquiao. Go Pacman!

scrap 3: circle of light

I made this scrap last night after dinner. I couldn't make up my mind which photo to use. One thing i was sure of was that i wanted to use one of our prenuptial pictures. And so, i chose this since it is one of our favorites.

With the help of our artistic photographer, we were able to capture this sweet moment where the sunset's reflection (if i may call it that way) enclosed us in its circle. Thus, we called it circle of light. Enchanting, isn't it?

For this scrap, credit goes to 2peasinabucket. Thankies for the papers, embelishments and text! woohooo!=)

digital scrapping what?!?

In case you are just discovering the world of digital scrapbooking...here is the “condensed” version :) Digi scrapping is basically the same thing as paper scrapping...only you create your layouts on your computer using software. The software varies...from the simple to the super complex...and from the inexpensive to the very expensive. Just like you go to your local scrapbooking store to purchase supplies...computer scrappers go to online stores and purchase their digital supplies (papers, eyelets, tags, ribbons and pretty much everything you would see in a “real” store”). We then use our software to place everything where we see fit on the page...and then have the option to either print...or just let it sit on our hard drive or a CD.

If you are just starting on a digi scrapping adventure...the best advice I can give i to visit
www.scrapbook-bytes.com - the site is loaded with advice and tutorials (not to mention inspiration) for many different software options and more. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY - have fun…and remember – the DELETE key is your best friend!

scrap2: flower power

here goes my 2nd scrap, inspired by photos of flowers i took in baguio (the white one) and in camiguin island (the yellow & the pink one).

i'm not so proud of the output though. i feel it's a little boring. too much details too. don't you think? anyway. like what i've said in my previous post --- i'm still a beginner. credit goes to shabbyprincess & 2peasinabucket.
